So you’re looking for the 2018 Genius Blogger’s Toolkit review, right? I usually do pretty in-depth workups reviewing many bundle components. But. This is going to be the shortest and skimpiest bundle review I’ve ever done. I’m so sorry! I meant to write up a bigger and better review, I really did…but see, I’ve been busy…busy using the contents of this Genius Blogger’s Toolkit to launch my brand new website: marriage-irl.com!!

Yes, that’s right, I’ve been using the bundle contents to actually do what the bundle is supposed to help people do: build websites/blogs.

So, hey, I guess that’s gotta speak for something, right?

Anyway. The Genius Blogger’s Toolkit. The details:
– It’s $97 for $5,800 worth of resources.
– The window to buy is 6 days only: Oct 10-15, 2018.
– If you don’t know much about these bundles, I SUPER STRONGLY SUGGEST you take a look at this post of mine right now before anything else: Are the Ultimate Bundles Legit, Scam, Amazing Deal or Marketing Ploy?

If you have a blog, and you’re at the point where you need to start investing a little bit of money back into your blog in order to grow where you want – and you have the $97 to invest – then this bundle is a pretty solid purchase

But, it’s kind of expensive too, especially if you’re just starting out and not yet making money from your blog. This in not an impulse buy. You’ll want to think about it and make sure it’s worth it for you.  Here’s my thoughts:

The Genius Blogger’s Toolkit might be FOR YOU if:
– You’re a newer blogger but ready to purchase a couple courses to help up your game and you want to get a good deal.
– You’re a slightly more experienced blogger, still wanting to grow and learn, and need to start investing some money into your site in order to grow – but you can’t yet afford to spend big bucks on blogging courses and resources.
– You are able to spend $97 to invest in your blog without breaking the bank.

But the Genius Blogger’s Toolkit might NOT be for you if:
– You’re a brand spanking new blogger, not sure if you’re willing to devote the time necessary into running a blog yet.
– You don’t have the wiggle room in your budget to afford $97. (there’s free and more affordable resources you can use for now and you can always buy the Toolkit another year)
– You’re already feeling too overwhelmed and held back in your blogging journey by what you think you are/aren’t “supposed” to do. Seriously, JUST START WRITING. This bundle is nice – but don’t buy if it’s just going to hold you back.

Side note, but just throwing this in here — If you’ve been blogging for a bit and know that you want to blog seriously, you might also consider joining a more expensive, but more comprehensive, blogging program.

There’s the Elite Blog Academy, which claims itself as the best, and idk, maybe it is great? But it’s also super expensive (like $900-$2K depending on the level you want!), and after a lot of careful outside-looking-in research, I realized that so many of the blogs touting EBA as the holy grail all had a very cookie-cutter (and not my) style to their blogs. From what I could tell, everything about the program seemed too cookie-cutter for me. Probably better for people who need step by step, fill in the blank, guided lessons they can check off a list. Also, I found it interesting that they recommend BlueHost as a hosting provider. BlueHost is well known for its huge affiliate payouts, but yet, if you do a google search for “bluehost or siteground“, SiteGround wins every single time. So basically, I knew EBA probably wasn’t the right fit for me.

I ended up going with another blogging program called Billionaire Blog Club, though it’s now doing a big overhaul and changing its name to Dare To Conquer. I joined it because
A) it had a much better price tag than EBA (I paid $250 for lifetime access when I joined, it’s now $457), and
B) I preferred the no-BS, authentic style of the guy who created it. You’re welcome to check it out and sign up for the free 12 day Blog Bootcamp emails to get a feel for the program if you’d like, but I get that it’s still expensive, and if t’s not something you can do right now, don’t do it. But if you are at the point where you’re looking to sign up for a higher level blogging program, BBC/DTC might be worth looking into. I like it.

Ok, ok, ok. The very quick 2018 Genius Blogger’s Toolkit bundle review:

Things I Liked:
Honestly, I mostly only bought this bundle this time around for the bonuses!

  • A Theme From MyThemeShop, $35 – go checkout my new website, marriage-irl.com to see my new theme all set up. 🙂
  • 3 months free on Tailwind, $30 – only good for new users, but I was able to set up an account for my new site
  • 3 month subscription to Podia, $237 – I’m definitely interested in trying this one out once I get my new site all up and running.
  • Site Scan from The Blog Fixer, $150 – I’d never heard of The Blog Fixer before, but I like what they offer and am interested in trying them out. Although I’m not sure if I’ll have to pay even more for them to “fix” my blog after scanning it, but we’ll see.

Things I Didn’t Like:

  • No Instagram resources! I’ve been getting more into Instagram lately and was really hoping for more IG guidance in the bundle. They have an overabundance of resources for Pinterest. But no Insta love. 🙁
  • Sooo many courses. I know courses are the popular thing right now, but really? I’d so much rather prefer a well-formatted ebook that I can put on my kindle, or scroll through at my own pace, or do Ctrl-F to find the exact thing I’m looking for. Maybe everyone else just loves the layers of courses and I’m weird. I guess the courses in the Billionaire Blog Club/Dare To Conquer program are ok to me though. Maybe because they’re all in one place with one login and the same consistency throughout so it feels less overwhelming? Idk. Either way – there’s a lot of courses in this bundle. And I don’t love it.

Here’s a list of the contents, I’ll be back later with more details. You can sign up to my Ultimate Bundle Review Notification List if you want me to email you once I have a more thorough full review up.

  • Busy Blogger Stock Photo Bundles by Elle Drouin ($75.00) – both of these stock image bundles are the typical, pink/gold/black on white, floral and spotless desk images you ALWAYS see in blogging stuff. And I gotta be honest about something. I think this imagery is very soon going to be on it’s way out. It’s getting old. It’s feeling dated. I mean, sure it probably has a couple years left, but…I really think this ridiculous and non-realistic everything-looks-beautiful-but-of-course-real-life-looks-nothing-like-this is not the place to be anymore. Just sayin. So I was not a fan of either of these stock bundles. Blah and boring. Sorry photographers who probably spend a lot of time and effort into taking these. 🙁
  • The Ultimate Styled Stock Photo Bundles for Female Entrepreneurs by Elley Charles ($89.00) – see above. 🙁
