A Deliberate Mother’s Guide to Holidays, Vacations and Quality Family Time by Saren Loosli at Power of Moms ($18)
Discover powerful but simple ideas to help you make special occasions and family time less stressful and more meaningful with A Deliberate Mother’s Guide to Holidays, Vacations and Quality Family Time.
Ronni’s Review: This book is going to resonate mostly with those raised in a more conservative, Christian household. There is a section on whether or not to celebrate Halloween or its’ modern church-centered equivalent Harvest Celebrations. For many, the question of not celebrating the ‘devil’s holiday’ is going to sound ludicrous. There is a section on celebrating Passover, as well as a section about how to make Easter more Christ-centered. Other than these sections, I still feel that those who are non-religious could still find value in the book, however, you’d want to decide for yourself. I’ll probably go back and read this in more depth at some point.
Cake Decorating with Modeling Chocolate by Kristen Coniaris at Wicked Goodies ($15.99) ** SEE AMAZON REVIEWS HERE **
In Cake Decorating with Modeling Chocolate, you’ll learn how to wrap a cake in patterned modeling chocolate and say toodaloo to fondant!
Ronni’s Review: 206 pdf pages. Ooh, this one looks fun! I’ll never have my act together to do this kind of decorating, but I like the ebook still! Lots of pictures, seems to have lots of instructional guides – and it even has 117 reviews on Amazon with 4.5 stars! If you’re into cake decorating, this one looks like a winner!
Cake Stand by Quinn Veon at Reformation Acres ($8.99) ** SEE AMAZON REVIEWS HERE **
With farm fresh ingredients that you can feel good about including in your family gatherings, Cake Stand: Fresh from the Market Farmstead Cakes offers 30 beautiful cakes for you to impress your guests.
Ronni’s Review: 90 pdf pages. I only briefly scanned this one. But I like that it contains cake recipes that feel classic and old-fashioned and beautiful and real. If cakes are an interest of yours, then this looks like a good book.
Heavenly Homemaker’s Guide to Holiday Hospitality by Laura Coppinger at Heavenly Homemakers ($6.95)
Stay organized and relaxed while you prepare for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year celebrations with family and friends with the advice in Heavenly Homemaker’s Guide to Holiday Hospitality.
Ronni’s Review: 43 pages. This feels like something a lady at church would have printed out, put in a 1/2in 3-ring binder, and given to my mom to help her plan the perfect family holiday celebration…in 1993.
Heavenly Homemaker’s Guide to Holiday Hospitality for Kids by Laura Coppinger at Heavenly Homemakers ($6.95)
Encourage your kids to think about the needs of others and to focus on giving and sharing during the holidays with Heavenly Homemaker’s Guide to Holiday Hospitality for Kids.
Ronni’s Review: See above.
Plan a Fabulous Party by Mary Carver at Giving Up on Perfect ($2.99) ** SEE AMAZON REVIEWS HERE **
Discover advice and encouragement, party planning templates from ListPlanIt, survival stories, and
last minute cleaning tips to help you Plan a Fabulous Party!
Ronni’s Review: 66 pages. Feels clean and modern, and might be a good guide if you’ feel lost at planning parties…and that you actually want to throw fabulous parties. If you’re like me, who has accepted that you’ll never be the ultimate party planner but that you have other strong suits so it’s ok – you’ll probably skip over this book. But it’s a cute book. It’ll be a good match for some.
The 12 Days of Christmas Adventure by Marianne Baker Ball at Adventures in the Ball Park ($6.99)
Spread holiday cheer with The 12 Days of Christmas Adventure, sharing 12 gifts with another family over the course of 12 days!
Ronni’s Review: 198 pages. Kind of cute – this book is basically a TON of ways to celebrate the traditional 12 Days of Christmas, and encourages choosing a recipient to bestow your 12 gifts upon. This is something I could see myself doing someday.
Unwrapping the Names of Jesus by Asheritah Ciuciu at One Thing Alone ($4.99) ** SEE AMAZON REVIEWS HERE **
Experience quiet pockets of time with Jesus throughout the hectic holiday season and grow in your love and understanding of who He is with Unwrapping the Names of Jesus.
Ronni’s Review: I did not go through this one, so I don’t have a review for it.
